Eco Diapers FAQ

What does β€œbiodegradable” actually mean for diapers?

Biodegradable means the material breaks down via microbial activity into water, CO2, and biomass. Cuddle-Kin’s 60% biodegradable measure is for commercial composting facilities (60-90 day breakdown). Backyard compost is NOT recommended for any disposable diaper.

Can I compost Cuddle-Kin diapers at home?

No β€” we do not recommend home composting any disposable diaper, including ours. Use commercial composting only, or standard waste disposal.

Is bamboo really more eco than tree pulp?

Yes β€” bamboo grows 30x faster than trees, requires zero pesticides, and regrows from cut stalks without replanting. Tree pulp requires logging old-growth or managed plantations.

What about the SAP polymer?

The super-absorbent polymer is the one synthetic component (~5% by weight). All disposable diapers use it. Cuddle-Kin uses food-grade SAP at lower percentages than mainstream brands.

Carbon-neutral shipping?

Yes β€” we offset all subscription shipping via Pachama-verified reforestation. One-time orders to be added 2026 Q3.
